Good morning! “Do Re Mi” is one of my favorite Woody Guthrie songs, and I’m still not very good at playing it, but I wanted to post it anyway.

Me singing “Leggy Blonde” for you. I’m still not sure how it happened.

Normally I would do this at least half a dozen more times and stress out about it BUT REAL FOLK MUSIC IS RAW AND ABOUT THE MESSAGE AND ALSO I AM VERY BUSY.

So call me One-Take Jake and enjoy (hopefully? maybe?) my cover of Woody Guthrie’s This Land is Your Land, dedicated to everyone who is indigenous.

Musical therapy this morning. I decided to sing Mercedes Benz on a whim while I was setting up to record something else. But I wound up liking this better.

I made you a Xmas present Tumblr! Roxanne wanted to help, so that’s her barking in the background.

My first mandolin song! It’s about me, but also kind of about Martha Jones and the Doctor.

Who wants some original music?

I did this in my living room yesterday. It’s my first time recording a song of my own! That’s me on guitar, vocals, finger-tapping, and whistling.

Yesterday I started playing with Audacity, which is the free program we use for the podcast (Talkin’ ‘Bout ‘Ginas). I’d never used it record music before; in fact, I’ve never recorded any music ever! So for my first attempt I give you my version of a pop song that I’ve always secretly thought was really sad. Enjoy!
